Tennis

Waynesborough’s beautiful, two-story Tennis Pavilion, unveiled in May of 2007, is surrounded by 10 meticulously maintained Har-Tru® courts (six with lighting for evening play) and two recently resurfaced hard courts (one with a backboard). The Tennis Shop, open seven days a week during the season, is fully stocked with the latest in apparel, accessories, and equipment for the entire family. Other services enjoyed by tennis enthusiasts include an online court reservation system and a portable ball machine.

From the novice player to nationally ranked competitors, Waynesborough members can improve their game with the help of our three highly qualified professionals. A well-organized ladder system (doubles and singles) determines placement on the Club’s eight teams in the Women’s Inter-Club Tennis Association of Philadelphia. WCC also fields women’s teams in the USTA’s Philadelphia district league. For the men, Waynesborough has three competitive teams; the “A”and “B” teams play on Saturday mornings, and the senior (60+) group on Wednesdays. More casual players might enjoy weekly round robins, evening clinics, private lessons, member/guest tournaments, or the much-anticipated mixed events.

The Junior Program boasts participation of more than 100 boys and girls at the peak of the season, from “tiny tots (ages 4 – 6) to “varsity” level (experienced high school players). Weekly clinics, tournaments, pizza parties, parent/child round robins, an interclub team, and more – children of all ages can enjoy tennis at Waynesborough.
